COVID-19 Updates

May 15, 2021: Updated Recommendations for Public Health and Safety

Hi Life Link Family and Friends,

On Thursday, May 13th, the CDC updated its recommendations for public health and safety pertaining to COVID-19 case trends that are reflecting the increasing level of vaccinations across the country. As you can imagine, the range of individual responses has been swift, extremely varied and deeply-felt by just about everyone.

All of us are feeling the fatigue of this public tension and many of us are feeling the personal loss (friends and family members who have died from COVID, strained or lost relationships, economic difficulties, etc.) brought about by the pandemic. But we also have a profound series of covenantal promises given to us by God in His Bible. Here are some that have provide great strength to all of us walking through this together:

“And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”                (Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV)

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…”         (Romans 8:28-29a NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;  In all your ways acknowledge (follow) Him, and He shall direct your paths.”  (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)

Bottom Line: God is WITH us, working things out FOR us and doing a divine work IN us as we trust and follow Him day by day.

In light of the CDC revisions this week, municipalities, businesses and entities of all kinds (including churches) are interpreting those revisions and forming revised protocols in light of the people they serve.

Life Link is doing the same thing for people coming into our facilities to worship together from very diverse life circumstances.

Our teams have been working diligently to find the life-giving path through this highly polarized environment our nation is wrestling with right now. We want to honor God, serve each other well, and in the end, emerge from this season stronger together than ever before.

We have arrived at this next step of recommendations prayerfully considering medical science, personal freedoms and responsibilities, and ultimately, a Spirit-led grace giving us the heart to see how we can work together through this with God’s Love being the dominant element on display in our lives. Remember:

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35 NKJV)

So, for the latest recommendation from the medical community, here are some summary recommendation statements provided on the CDC website:

  • Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
  • In general, people are considered fully vaccinated:
    • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
    • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
    • If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. Keep taking all precautions until you are fully vaccinated.
    • If you have a condition or are taking medications that weaken your immune system, you may NOT by fully protected even if you are fully vaccinated. Talk to your healthcare provider. Even after vaccination, you may need to continue taking all precautions.

Next for the issue of how we steward our personal freedoms and responsibilities. Romans 14:14-19 gives us a framework for how to make the best use of our freedoms concluding with, So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.”

With all that in mind, and in order to serve the maximum number of people who would prefer to worship together in person, here are the recommendations provided by the Doctors, Elders and Pastors who serve on the Life Link Church Medical Advisory team:\

  • Provide additional seating in all ministry environments.
  • Recommend attenders and those serving on all ministry teams who are not fully vaccinated wear masks.
  • Have those serving on the Prayer Teams up front wear masks while praying for people who come forward for prayer.
  • Request those who are sick to worship with us online from home.
  • Recommend those who are immunocompromised to follow the advice of their healthcare provider.
  • Continue to provide hand sanitization stations throughout the facility.

These recommendations are the latest based on all the elements listed above. They will be reviewed and updated frequently as the community immunity vectors continue to improve.

The recommendations provided by our dedicated Medical Advisory Team are based on their experience in the broader medical community and are provided as a service to your household and the church family as a whole. We trust everyone to keep the big picture in mind as you choose your way forward.

Please remember that everyone is making choices and taking steps at different paces and kindly respect those who may have a more reserved response than you. None of us know all the circumstances behind the choices others are making.

Also, we will continue to serve our church family and friends who have life-circumstances that preclude their in-person attendance with an engaging online worship experience.

The goal is to continue staying and growing together in strength as a great church family and friends. God is doing a tremendous work in all of us right now. Let’s make the most of it together!

We love you and are honored to serve you.

March 27, 2021: COVID-19 Update

Hi Life Link Family and Friends,

We want to take this opportunity to update you on the steps we are taking together as we continue to see encouraging measurables related to the COVID virus.

First of all, we want to thank you for your willingness to follow the leadership God has given us as a church family through this difficult season. It has been challenging for everyone on all sides of the thoughts and opinions spectrum to be sure. Every one of us has strong feelings about the various policies and decisions that have been made along the way. But no one has felt the weight of the season more than those among us who have lost family and friends to COVID. Our prayers remain consistent for them in the grief they continue to heal through.

We also want to thank the Doctors, Elders and Pastors on the leadership team that have collaborated to provide input to the decisions that have been made in guiding the church family at each step of the journey. Every decision has been reached at the end of extensive prayer and conversations based on measureable data and metrics they have access to in the roles they serve in as Physicians on different hospital boards across in the Valley.

We met again this week in light of the Governor’s decision on Thursday, March 25 to lift the State/Municipality Mask Mandate. Many people have interpreted that decision as the indication that the COVID journey is over – which is incorrect. What that public policy decision did was effectively put the responsibility for determining operational policies (i.e. physical distancing, face coverings, etc.) on individual organizations instead of governmental agencies. Over the next several weeks, we’ll likely see a variety of changes as each organization and entity determines their response path forward. We, as a ministry, have the same responsibility to determine which steps to take moving forward as well.

The LLC Medical Advisory Team (Elders and Pastors who are also practicing Physicians) met on Friday to review various sets of metrics (COVID infection rates, hospital COVID admissions, ICU COVID occupancy and mortality rates as well as population vaccination levels, etc.). They are reporting that all the metrics are very encouraging and moving the right direction but have not quite reached the levels that would merit making changes to our current operational guidelines (although they observed that if the metrics continue their current trajectories and change rates, it is feasible to anticipate a major change in the distancing and face covering policy recommendation in just a few short weeks – hopefully by summer which is only 8-10 Sundays away 🙂.

So out of an abundance of caution, here’s where we stand for the next few Sundays:

  • Our Life Link staff and serve teams will continue wearing face coverings as they help you find your way around the campus (unless they are on the platform).
  • We strongly urge everyone in attendance to wear face coverings while they are on the campus (unless there is a medical reason that keeps a person from doing so) for the benefit of everyone around them.
  • The seating in all of our worship environments will remain set up in a physically distanced configuration as well.
  • Temperature checks will be provided at all of our children’s ministry check-in areas.

We want to remind everyone who still feels the numbers haven’t reached what you need in order to get out among people yet that it is vitally important to stay connected together with the church family through worshipping online at 9:30AM each Sunday and participating in online Life Groups weekly as well (info at We also want to say that if you’re out and about at grocery stores, restaurants and other public settings in the normal course of your week, we’d like to encourage you to return to worshipping in person at the Gilbert campus as well (we can’t wait to see you in person again:-).

Finally, please remember that as anxious as all of us are to get back to life where we see the lower half of everyone’s face, the greater win is to all get there together. We’re close enough to see the light at the end of the face-covering tunnel. As Pastors, Cheree’ and I continue to pray that we’ll all have the grace it takes to reach the finish line – which is only just a few more Sundays away – together. Please don’t let anything wedge you away from all God is doing in our journey right now. It’s just not worth it.

Let’s continue taking ground in this exciting season of ministry and life.

We love you and are honored to serve you.

Pastors Dave and Cheree’

  • Our staff and serve teams will all be wearing face coverings as they help you find your way around the campus (unless they are on the platform).
  • We strongly urge everyone in attendance to wear face coverings while they are on the campus (unless there is a medical reason that keeps a person from doing so) for the benefit of everyone around them.

August 26, 2020: Life Link Regathering September 13th

Hello, Church Family!

After many conversations with our board of doctors, our staff, and our Pastors, we are excited to announce that we are re-gathering for in-person services starting Sunday, September 13th at 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM! We have so enjoyed the journey of worshipping online together, but we absolutely cannot wait to be in person again! And yes, for those that are unable to meet in person, we are still offering our services online!

Here’s what to expect for the foreseeable future in this new season: Our services will be socially distanced with spaced seating in our Worship Center. We are asking that face coverings be worn.  Kids Little, Kids Big, and Link56 programming are being offered in our 9:30 AM service. Your kiddos are welcome to join you in our 11:30 AM service for a family-style.

To best serve our kiddos in class, maintain a clean environment, and remain socially distant, our kid’s services have limited capacity and will be first come first served. We are doing health checks at the entrance of each of our kid’s environments to ensure everyone is healthy, safe, and ready for a fun day of learning! Parents of our big kiddos (Kids Big and Link56) pack a mask for your kiddo’s class. Masks will be required in hallways and common areas and will be worn by our volunteers in each environment.

We also have strategic hand sanitizing stations throughout the building, as well as a cleaning team and protocol in place. Additional cleaning will be done throughout the day. We are also doing health checks with all of our volunteers serving you and your family in each environment.

Church family, we love you and are so thankful for you in this season. God is faithful and He is still in control! And, again, we can’t wait to worship together again all under the same roof!

June 24, 2020: Important COVID Update

Hello Life Link Family and friends,

Pastor Cheree’ and I are so grateful for the privilege of serving you and the amazing family of friends called Life Link Church as we carry out our Divine Mission of “Linking People and God Together For Life”.

Our commitment to following God’s lead has compelled us to take many surprising steps together as we follow Him on the path He has laid out for our church family. When God gave us Proverbs 3:5-6 as our scripture for this year, none of us could have known how profoundly important that guidance would turn out to be as the year is unfolding. Here’s what He tells us in that scripture:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Like never before, we have leaned into Him and His guidance for our church family this year. Starting in March, when we stepped into an online mode of worshipping together via Live-Stream on Sunday mornings, we have been closely following His lead on a week-to-week journey as our communities walk through waves of challenges stemming from COVID-19. Back in May, working with input from our Medical Advisory Team, our Elders and our Pastoral Leadership teams, we felt released to offer the option to reassemble for Corporate Worship for those who were ready to do so, while continuing to offer the live-stream service for those who sensed the need to worship “together” from home beginning June 7th.

This “week-to-week” trusting on guidance from God is our continued commitment as we serve to lead the congregation through the fluid times we are living in. Which brings us to the point of this letter:

On Monday, Pastor Cheree’ and I convened our Medical Advisory Team of Doctors (all of whom are either Elders or Staff Pastors at Life Link) to assess the spikes they are seeing related to the wave of COVID working through the Phoenix valley right now. On Tuesday we met with our Operations Team and then again with the Doctors on the Medical Advisory team to get a true read on where Life Link is positioned as a church family.

After that series of meetings and time alone with the Holy Spirit, Pastor Cheree’ and I believe that we sense God leading us this week to transition back into the online model of connecting together as well as worshipping together on Sundays for the next few weeks starting with our Wednesday Night connection tonight.

That means that beginning today, June 24th, we will reformat our worship and prayer connections back into the Live-stream/online mode only and reschedule/postpone all other in-person events that are planned in the building until we begin to reassemble back into in-person corporate gatherings and worship.

So, for those of you who have been able to join us at the Table for fellowship and prayer over the past Wednesday nights, please enjoy dinner at your table at home tonight and then join Pastor Cheree’ and me at 7pm on the Life Link Church Facebook Live and Instagram pages instead.

On Sundays, please join us in worship at 9:30am and 11:30am on the Life Link website, Youtube channel, or Facebook Page.

Pastor Cheree’ and I will continue to lean on God’s week-to-week guidance for the Life Link Church Family, working closely with the Elders and Pastors on our Medical Advisory Team, our Staff Pastors, and Ops team as we serve you with leadership. Your physical and spiritual wellbeing remains a central focus for us. We are committed to doing all we can to see you thrive – not just survive – in this turbulent season. We are filled with faith and fully expect God to lead us all in His supernatural flow of provision, equipping all of us for unprecedented, miraculous breakthroughs.

You may have follow-up questions that need clarification. Please email those to us at We want to know how what those are so you are fully informed.

We love you and can’t wait to connect with you on Facebook and Instagram tonight and then worship with all of you online “together” this weekend.

May 8, 2020: Update on the Life Link Reassembly Plan

Hi Life Link Family and Friends,

Pastor Cheree’ and I wanted to connect with you today to make sure you are up to speed with where our leadership teams are in the process of serving you with a path to regathering for corporate worship. We have been working with various leadership teams (Medical Advisory Team, Elders, Staff, Dream Team, etc.) within the Life Link Church family to align our path toward reassembly for our gathered corporate worship services. Our commitment to you is to provide you – the church family – with a Holy Spirit-guided, wisdom-informed reassembly plan that serves the needs of the whole church family.

As you are well aware, there are a LOT of voices in various social media platforms freely expressing a wide range of opinions as to when the “church should re-open”. The freedom to share thoughts and opinions is a privilege we hold dearly and we encourage all forms of constructive dialogue. Frankly, as the “re-open” issue relates to Life Link, the “‘church’ never closed – we simply changed modes in which we continued to worship ‘together,’” while the leaders in our land sorted through their responsibilities to guide our communities through a situation they felt merited extraordinary measures on everyone’s part.

It is important for you to remember that God’s church will never be “closed” because Jesus is building a church that even hell cannot prevail against (Matthew 16:18). Life Link is part of that and will never “close” for ministry as a church. We will always follow the Lord’s leadership using whatever “modes” work best for each situation we face as a church family. We are strong and malleable, powerful and flexible. We can thrive in our Macro/Assembled expression and in our Micro/House-to-House expression. And we are victorious together as we follow our Savior forward season-by-season.

Pastor Cheree’ and I are so thankful for all God has done through our church family as we have worshipped “together via Livestream” over the past several weekends. Each of those Sundays we have walked into the church facility to lead our times of worship together, we are reminded of how much we cherish the opportunity to worship all “together in the auditorium” with the church family. We are really looking forward to regathering in corporate worship as soon as feasible.

We anticipate rolling out a Phased Reassembly Plan to the church family during the week following Mother’s Day. Please be watching for it and respond with information we’d like to receive back from you so we’ll know how best to prepare for you as we re-gather for corporate weekend worship services.

We love being a church family with you!

Pastors Dave and Cheree’

April 9, 2020: April, Week 1 LLC Update

Hi Life Linkers,

Pastor Cheree’ and I are holding you up in prayer as we all stay linked together in this new season. While it’s always been important to be linked together with God and each other, it has never been more important than it is now.

We wanted to update you on a few things this week:

1) We have changed our “Live Stream” provider after 3 weeks of them promising to fix the dropout issues and seeing no improvement. Starting this Easter Sunday, we will be streaming on the same provider that serves Life.Church (Pastor Craig Groeschel) and Elevation (Pastor Steven Furtick). That service provider should deliver a substantially more stable worship experience for everyone watching (Woo Hoo!!)

To join us Sunday on the live stream, follow one of these links:  Facebook  /  Youtube  /  Live Online

2) If you have missed any of the last 3 sermons (3/22, 3/29 or 4/5), PLEASE CLICK HERE to watch each one that you have missed. God is providing the Life Link Church family critically important guidance that will be increasingly vital for every household that calls Life Link home. You’ll definitely want the HANDOUT that goes with each sermon. CLICK HERE to get the handouts you don’t have.

3) Last (Palm) Sunday, I referenced getting an Outreach Flyer to you that you can print out (& cut) at home to use for the 5 neighbors closest to you. CLICK HERE to download the printable PDF. Please get them out to the 5 closest neighbors you have by Friday if possible.

4) Please don’t forget about our Good Friday Communion Service on the LLC Facebook page this Friday, 4/10, at 7pm.

5) If you haven’t received a call from one of the leaders at Life Link yet, please send us an email at to let us know. We want to make sure we are in touch with you.

We love you and are so very glad to be linked together as a church family with you.

March 18, 2020: Join us on LIVE STREAM this Sunday at 9:30am, 10:30am, and 11:30am!

Hello Church Family, If you just missed the live video update I just did, check it out!

Posted by Life Link Church on Wednesday, 18 March 2020

We have seen a lot of change in the last 48 hours. The last time we saw each other on Sunday, we didn’t realize that within 24 hours the CDC and the President would ask all of us to limit our group sizes to 10 or less. While that may be a surprise to most of us, it is not a surprise to God – and as He says in His Bible, He’s working things out for our good.

So, our leadership team has been meeting through the day today to frame how to serve the LLC family with the most effective way to worship “together” this weekend. Here’s the plan for this Sunday: We are “going live” (via LIVE STREAM) this Sunday at 9:30am, 10:30am and 11:30am which gives you lots of options to choose from.

To join us Sunday on the live stream, follow one of these links:  Facebook  /  Youtube  /  Live Online

We realize that things are changing rapidly so if you’d like to get updates as we send them out, text UPDATE to tel:480-470-0800. If you have specific questions you’d like information on, please email them to If you have specific prayer requests that you’d like us to pray for, please email them to We want to let you know that we love you and are praying for you. We are linked with you for life and love the journey we’re on together.

See you soon.
